No Cloud Functions, Complex to set up, scanning often errors, very high quality and fast printing!

This multifunction printer/scanner has some very good points and some not so good points. First off: even though its specifications state it is cloud enabled, it CAN NOT interface with the cloud at all. For example, if you want to send a scan to the cloud, you must use a computer, save the scan locally on the computer, then manually upload to your cloud of choice. This is what is advertised as "cloud-enabled." This is not, in fact, cloud enabled. The second big issue is that many scanning functions can only work with a shared network drive or fax number. Most functions won't work direct to PC or memory stick. There's a great variety of options and configurations, but for whatever reason, they can't be configured for a destination other than network drive or fax number. The third issue is that scanning is intermittent. I scan direct to my computer and it errors out about 50% of the time requiring a restart of the computer and the printer. This is not a good success rate. The last issue I have is that is very complex to set up - there are a huge amount of customization options available to you, but no guide to figure out where they are in the labyrinth web administrative panel. I had to google around and figure it out. For example, by default, the printer is set to turn itself off (not go to to sleep, actually fully turn off) after 4 hours. It took me two hours of research and trial and error to find the actual setting where I could change this - and it was named something unexpected. It was difficult to even figure out how to properly set up user authentication to access the settings menu in the first place - there are multiple authentication modes with no explanations as to what they are or how they behave. For the good points of the printer: scans come out clean and crisp. There is no bleedthrough when using single pass duplex scanning. The prints are excellent quality and very fast. So, in summary, when this device works, it works great! However, it is highly impaired by artificial limitations in the printer firmware, the companion computer software and drivers, and an overly complex and opaque maze of settings with nonsense names. Due to the high quality of the scans and prints, I will be keeping this printer. I am irritated every time it fails a scan or I need to change a setting - and with the lack of ability to use the special features of the printer since I am using a computer and not a network drive or fax.
